Meditation

Cedar Wind group meditation starts with a short talk focused on Ben’s traditional Zen-based meditation experience to help set our intent; a brief stretch to prepare our bodies to sit and to help shift our minds from a conceptual to an experiential state; then enters into the main focus of the practice - a silent sitting meditation period. We will generally meditate for 35-45 minutes in two blocks. In between the blocks will be a moment to quietly stand and rest from the sitting posture.

These sessions are geared for the first time meditator or lifetime practitioner alike. Simple guidance is given at the beginning of the session to help the new and to remind the experienced.

Group meditation is a wonderful experience. Coming to the center removes distractions - you are here, now, with nothing to do but sit. We find strength from each other, sitting quietly together. It is powerful to experience many minds merging into one space of stillness.

Come as often as you wish. Setting aside the time weekly brings a stability to your meditation practice. If you can’t come weekly, simply come whenever you can, and let the energy of the group recharge your regular home practice.
