Meditation
Cedar Wind group meditation includes a short setting of intent to bring our minds into a meditative space, a brief stretch to prepare our bodies to sit, and then a silent sitting meditation period. We will generally meditate for 40-45 minutes in two blocks. In between the blocks will be a moment to quietly stand and rest from the sitting posture.
These sessions are geared for the first time meditator or lifetime practitioner alike. Simple guidance from the Zen tradition is given at the beginning of the session to help the new and to remind the experienced.
Group meditation is a wonderful experience. Coming to the center removes distractions - you are here, now, with nothing to do but sit. We find strength from each other, sitting quietly together. It is powerful to experience many minds merging into one space of stillness.
Come as often as you wish. Setting aside the time weekly brings a stability to your meditation practice. Or, come once a month, and let the energy of the group recharge your regular home practice.
